On July 19th at approximately 3:00 am Kamloops Rural RCMP attended to a hit and run incident at Sun Peaks BC. A group of three males were walking along Sun Peaks Road when a dark colored older model Chevy S-10 type pick-up truck struck the last male in the group.
The victim, a 30 year old male, was thrown off the roadway and suffered serious head and lower body injuries. The victim was transported to Royal Inland Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Police are seeking anyone with information on this hit and run or know of a vehicle fitting the suspect description operating in the Sun Peaks area to contact the Kamloops Rural RCMP at 250-314-1800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or submit a webtip on the submit tip tab of the webpage.


Tk’emlups Rural RCMP continue to investigate the Serious Injury Collision which took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at Sun Peaks. As they further this investigation they are asking that the driver contact the local detachment and make this tragic event right. It is strongly felt this individual has reached out to someone and police are asking that any information be passed onto Police or Crime Stoppers if you would like to remain anonymous. As well, the pickup involved may have sustained damage to the front grill and fender.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $2000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.
